چکیده

The mobile Virtual Private Network (MVPN) of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is not designed to support NEtwork MObility (NEMO) and is not suitable for real-time applications. Therefore, architecture and protocols to support VPN in NEMO are needed. Therefore, in this paper we propose a costeffective and secure mobility management scheme (SeSIP) that is based on session initiation protocol (SIP) and designed for real-time applications with VPN. Our scheme to support MVPN in NEMO enables the session to be well maintained during movement of the entire network. Further, in order to reduce the authentication delay time in handoff operations, the signaling time which occurs to maintain the session is shortened through our proposed handoff scheme which adopts authentication using HMAC-based one-time password (HOTP). Our performance analysis results show our proposed scheme provides improvement in average handoff performance time relative to existing schemes.

An optimized QoS scheme for IMS-NEMO in heterogeneous networks

The network mobility (NEMO) is proposed to support the mobility management when users move as a whole. In IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), the individual Quality of Service (QoS) control for NEMO results in excessive signaling cost. On the other hand, current QoS schemes have two drawbacks: unawareness of the heterogeneous wireless environment and inefficient utilization of the reserved bandwidth...

Signalling Cost Analysis of SINEMO: Seamless IP-diversity based NEtwork MObility

— IETF has proposed Mobile IPv6-based Network Mobility (NEMO) basic support protocol (BSP) to support network mobility. NEMO BSP inherits all the drawbacks of Mobile IPv6, such as inefficient routing path, single point of failure, high handover latency and packet loss, and high packet overhead. To address these drawbacks, we proposed an IP diversity-based network mobility management scheme call...

NeMRI - Based Multicasting in Network Mobility

Mobile IP is a solution to support mobile nodes but it does not handle NEtwork MObility (NEMO). The NEMO Basic Support [2] ensures session continuity for all the nodes in the mobile network. Since the protocol is based on Mobile IP, it inherits the same fundamental problem such as tunnel convergence, when supporting the multicast for NEMO. In this paper, we propose the multicast route optimizat...

SMR-Based Adaptive Mobility Management Scheme in Hierarchical SIP Networks

In hierarchical SIP networks, paging is performed to reduce location update signaling cost for mobility management. However, the cost efficiency largely depends on each mobile node’s session-to-mobility-ratio (SMR), which is defined as a ratio of the session arrival rate to the movement rate. In this paper, we propose the adaptive mobility management scheme that can determine the policy regardi...
